Mr Alex was a great friend to my entire family for many many years... I remember very well when he and my dad (Roy Roberts Sr) use to go rabbit hunting. We all had such a good time running those beagles. I enjoyed talking to him and going to see him at his house. We will surely miss our friend.. David may God give you comfort during this difficult time.

Alex was our pew buddy at Hamer Creek for worship service. He and Carolyn always sat in front of us and never did a Sunday roll around that he didn't turn around and ask me how I was doing. It hurt my heart when I started realizing a few months ago that he just didn't act quite like himself and the glow went out of his eyes and he wasn't his jovial self. I loved hearing about his stories of buying chickens from a man from Chadbourn NC. He knew I was familiar with that area of NC and he always had a story to tell about it. He will be greatly missed. But I wouldn't wish him back for anything in this world. For you see, he's with his Lord and Savior now in that great home called HEAVEN. RIP my dear sweet friend. I love you. Alex was one of the most wonderful people Mt. Gilead has ever known. He always had a smile for everyone. And he never let me forget that we shared a birthday. Also, that he was at the hospital, partying with the Crump men as I was being born. He has been a great friend to my family over the years. Alex, RIP, you will always be in my heart. My deepest sympathy to David and the entire family. Heaven has gained another angel.
