David Alexander “Alex” Yarbrough, 79, of Mount Gilead passed away Monday morning, March 20, 2017.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00PM, Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Hamer Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Steven Cline and Rev. Alex Willoughby will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Mr. Yarbrough was born September 23, 1937 in Montgomery County to the late Benton and Stella Dennis Yarbrough. He was a member of Hamer Creek Baptist Church and was an avid hunter. He was a retiree of Gilead Manufacturing and Burnsville Apparel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Deaton Yarbrough; son, Kenneth Yarbrough and brother, Ashley Yarbrough.
He is survived by his son, David Yarbrough and wife, Beth of Mount Gilead; grandchildren, Lacey Phillips(Dillon), Clay Yarbrough, Jacob Galloway and Kaylan Galloway; great-grandchildren, Rain & River Phillips and Mason Galloway; sisters, Sara Robinson of Mount Gilead and Mildred Rader of Morganton.
