Mr. William C “Butch” Cook, 78 of Norwood, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024 at his home, surrounded by family.
Born on December 31, 1945 in Albemarle NC, Butch was the son of the late James W Cook, and Viola Almond Cook. Butch was also predeceased by his wife, Dianne Cook, whom he married in 1966.
He is survived by their two children, Crystal Page (Jeff), Tiffany Cook (Tim Franklin); three grandchildren: Nic Page, Drake Page, and Tanner Franklin, and fur baby Tahoe.
A graduate of West Stanly High School, Butch also graduated from Diesel College in Nashville, TN. Butch spent his career as a mechanic and owner of Cook’s Marine Service on Lake Tillery for 38 years.
Butch was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed his race boat, cat dancing, El Caminos, old music, and countless conversations with his loyal customers, and marina neighbors. He will remain a legend for the Lake Tillery area.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Fairview Memorial Park at 1:00 PM. Pastor Brian Franklin will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Levine Cancer Center in Albemarle, NC.
