Wallace MacArthur ‘Mac’ Waddell, 61, of Thomasville, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Cedar Hill AME Zion Church. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
Wallace MacArthur Waddell was born on March 29th, 1964. He departed this life on Saturday, January 24th, 2026; at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, NC.
His spiritual journey began at Cedar Hill Church in Ansonville, NC; where he confessed Christ at an early age.
“Mac”, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, had a true gift for building and was very skilled at repairing vehicles– which he loved to do. He was always willing to lend his talent to help others in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Marie Watkins; grandparents: LD and Mary Watkins, Charlie and Ella Mae Mclendon; his siblings: James Watkins, Judy Minor, and Rita Watkins; and a special friend, Gillian 'Teenie' Hackley--and her daughter, Tonya Hackley.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three brothers: Timothy Waddell, of Thomasville, NC, Melvin Watkins, of Norwood, Lorinza (Sherra) Watkins, of Salt Lake City, Utah; and a special daughter, Filetha Hackley, of Thomasville, NC; Three special grandchildren who loved him as their papa: Alaundra Carter (Stephen), Manaiya Hackley, Jaalique Hackley (Ladaisha), and Isaiah Bowman; and six great grandchildren. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.
