Wade Efird

Wade Dean Efird, 67 of Norwood passed away Friday afternoon August 04, 2023 at CMC Main in Charlotte. 

A funeral service will be held Saturday,  August 12, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Cottonville Baptist Church. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors.

Wade was born August 26, 1955 to the late Harvol Max Efird and Martha Louise Nicholson Eslow. He served in the US Navy and retired from the Army National Guard as a Sergeant First Class. While in the military, Wade served in Vietnam and Iraq. Mr. Efird also served many years as a volunteer fire fighter at Teal’s Mill FD in Cheraw, SC.

Wade was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He loved his family and even during his illness was always able to put a smile on their faces.

He is survived by his 3 sons: James Jacob Efird (Jessica) of CA, Nathaniel Wade Efird (Tabatha) of Cheraw, SC, and Lance Dean Efird (Billy) of Cheraw, SC, one brother: Darrel Ray Efird of Tiger River, SC, and one sister: Cindy Ramsey (Matt) of Spring Valley, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Aaron, Landon, Aubreigh, Vivian, Colton, and Alexander, and honorary grandchildren,: Kaylea and Hunter.

He was preceded in death by Jack and Margie Coley Efird who raised him and he loved dearly.
