Daniel Wade Dennis, 94, of Albemarle, passed away, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday afternoon, March 29, 2022 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Porter Baptist Church. Rev. Flynn Richardson, Dr. Kinny Wallace and Rev. Flake Mason will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00PM to 1:30PM in the church fellowship hall. The family request that those attending please practice social distancing.
Mr. Dennis was born April 15, 1927 in Stanly County to the late Daniel Ratio and Nellie Talbert Dennis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Marbry Dennis; sisters Mabel Dick and Ruth Plyler
He was a graduate of Norwood High School. He was an active member of Porter Baptist Church where for 78 years he played piano or organ. He was also a member of the Porter Baptist Quartet, a music ministry that shared their love of music to area nursing homes for many years. In addition to his love of sharing music, he loved sharing his testimony and his love for the Lord.
Wade, along with his wife, Wilma were owners of Dennis Dairy Farm. He had a strong work ethic, he believed in hard work and doing the job right. The only thing he loved more than his music was his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Burris and her husband, Michael of Mount Pleasant; twin granddaugthers, Madison Burzlaff and husband, Daniel of Kannapolis; Kayla Wainer and husband, Joe of Albemarle and great grandson, Nathan Wade Wainer.
