Virginia Porter

Virginia Britt Porter 88 of Norwood died Saturday Morning, September 26, 2020 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery in Marion, SC. Mrs. Porter will lie in state Monday from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 PM Monday, September 28, 2020 at Edwards Funeral Home of Norwood where friends are welcome to pay their respects.

Mrs. Porter was born July 28, 1932 in Anson County to the late James Thomas and Ila Lewis Britt. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist church of Norwood.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hayward Gates Porter Sr.

She is survived by her son, Hayward Porter Jr. of Norwood and two daughters, Joann Porter of Albemarle and Pam Morton of Norwood. One granddaughter, Heather Porter and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew and Brandon. One brother, Robert Britt of Albemarle and two sisters, Cathey Grissom of Norwood and Frances Canter of Harrisburg.
