Virginia Burroughs

Virginia Covington Burroughs, 78, of Mount Gilead, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 18, 2021 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Saron Baptist Church in Ellerbe.  Rev. Wayne Luck will officiate and burial will follow in Sharon Cemetery, Mount Gilead.  The family will receive friends Friday evening, July 23, 2021 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Mount Gilead.  

Mrs. Burroughs was born March 17, 1943 in Richmond County to the late Judson and Mozelle Warner Covington.  She was a homemaker and a member of Pee Dee Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Eugene “Gene” Burroughs; grandson, Joey Gross; brothers, Alton and Oswald Covington; sisters, Josephine Russell and Ardele Reynolds.

She is survived by her daughter, Julia Beth Hall and husband, John of Mount Gilead; grandsons, Sean Gross and Dakota Davis; brother, Curtis Covington and wife, Belle of Candor; sisters, Shirley Blake and husband, Don of Troy and Vicki Ochtyun and husband, John of Ellerbe;
