Tony Tucker

Tony Martin Tucker, 71 of Norwood, died Saturday afternoon, August 22, 2020 at his home.

A private memorial service will be held at Edwards Funeral Home at a later date, Chaplain Karen Odor will officiate.

Tony was born February 2, 1949 in Stanly County to the late Ted and Mary Hopkins Tucker.  He was a 1967 graduate of North Stanly High School and was retired from Oakwood Homes.  He served in the NC National Guard and was a member of Norwood First United Methodist Church. 

Tony loved gardening, hunting, and fishing.  He especially loved fishing at the Cherry Grove Pier.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Kimrey and brother, Billy Joe Tucker.

Surviving is his wife, Peggy Lisenby Tucker, whom he married, September 2, 1972; daughter, Kristie Hinson(Richard) of Albemarle; son, David Tucker of Norwood; sister, Sandra Efird(Gene) of Albemarle; four grandchildren, Kortney, Kelsey and Kenley Hinson and Jeremiah Monroe Tucker.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
