Obituary
Tommy ‘Cowboy’ Ray Hartsell, 67, of Polkton, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Silver Road Baptist Church. Rev. Jeremy Holt will officiate and the family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall.
Mr. Hartsell was born on May 4, 1956 in Stanly County to the late George Henry and Louise Garren Hartsell. He was a marble installer and a member at Silver Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding horses.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Junior Hartsell and Elizabeth Ann Hartsell; and grandchildren: Ricky West and Bradley Tucker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mitzie Hinson Hartsell of the home; children: Michelle Hartsell Lamb (James), Tommy Ray Hartsell Jr. (Jennifer), and Jamie Glover; step-children: Carl Wayne Callicutt (Stephanie) and Misty Maples (James); brothers and sisters: Nancy Burke (Wayne), George Hartsell (Thesa), Charles Michael Hartsell (Betty), Susie Tarlton (Danny), David Wayne Hartsell, Jerry Hartsell (Mary), and Michael Page; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Edwards Funeral Home, PO Box 765, Norwood NC 28128.
