Michael Todd Howell “Big Love” 62 of Norwood died Friday, April 3, 2026 at Atrium Health Cabarrus surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Norwood First Baptist Church, Rev. Rupert Medford will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.

Todd was born June 24, 1963 in Stanly county to Kenneth and Sue Lisk Howell who survive of Norwood. He was a graduate of South Stanly High School and a retiree of the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Todd lived a life full of laughter, humor and mischief, never meeting a stranger. He always had a story to tell to anyone who would listen. He had a gift of storytelling, whether true or not, just entertaining, leaving everyone laughing and wondering how much of it actually happened.

Todd grew up on Lake Tillery with his family at Ken’s Marina. Being on the water was his favorite passion. Either fishing, hunting, or being at the lake or beach. Just bring a boat!

Though we will miss him dearly, we find comfort in knowing he is at peace with his heavenly father.The family would like to express sincere gratitude to everyone who has reached out to Todd over the past few years, whether it was a meal, a visit, or a phone call. Your friendship meant everything to him and his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jacki Rivers Howell and his brother Curt Howell.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his children, Brandi Howell Talbert (Wesley) and their daughter Raygan of Troy and Brandon Howell of Norwood. Sister Angie Howell McSwain (Barry) of Norwood. Niece, Morgan Bowers (Jesse), nephews, Evans McSwain (Landis) and Parker McSwain. Great-nephew and niece, Taylen and Savanna Caviness. Jacki’s children and grandchildren, Ashley Scarborough (Logan), Taylor Tarlton (Tyler) and Bucky Cummings (Sarah). Kaya, Bella Grace, Rivers, Craven, Ryder and Walker.
