Timothy Cratty

Timothy Glenn Cratty, Sr., 77, of Ansonville, passed away on March 21, 2023 at his home. A service to celebrate Mr. Cratty’s life will be at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel at 6:00 PM on Friday, March 24, 2023. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 

Mr. Cratty was born on October 21, 1945 to the late Robert Andrew Cratty and Sarah Colson Cratty. After graduating Bowman High School, Mr. Cratty worked at Young’s Manufacturing, Carolina Solite, Metal Forge, Stanly Fixtures and retired from Arrowood (Hucks Manufacturing). He was a long time active member of Concord United Methodist Church and loved his church family. He had a strong faith in God and never passed up the opportunity to spread the word. Mr. Cratty was a dedicated son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He exuded love, compassion, understanding, and forgiveness. Many people remember him from his roller skating days at Oakboro Skating Rink and surrounding rinks. He was a force to be reckoned with on wheels in his younger days. 

Timothy is preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Green Cratty. 

He is survived by his brothers, Robert Cratty (Wanda) of Savannah, GA, Joseph Cratty (Linda) of Pahrump, NV, William Cratty (Brenda) of Ansonville, NC, and a sister Sarah Hartman of Kerrville, TX.

He is also survived by his two sons, Timothy Cratty, Jr. (Lisa) of Oakboro, and Shane Cratty (Michelle) of Norwood; his grandchildren: Jacob Cratty (Courtney), Katelyn Poplin (Anthony), Karson Cratty, Jessica Fowler (Hank), Heather York, Caleb York (Julia); seven great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
