Sylvia Thompson

On December 9, 2021, Sylvia Diane Hill Thompson, 74, of Albemarle, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family.

Sylvia never met a stranger, and loved her family and friends, especially her three grandchildren.  She was an avid reader, a jigsaw enthusiast, and she was always up for adventures.

She was preceded in death by husband, Donald M. Thompson; her parents J. D. and Bessie Whitley Hill; and her mother in law, Helen Cardwell Burris.  

Sylvia is remembered lovingly by her children, son, Todd Thompson, Sr. (Amanda) of Albemarle, NC,   daughter, Tonya Guyton-Thompson(Gigi, ) of Peaks Island, Maine and her grandchildren, Alex Thompson of Richmond, VA, Erin Thompson of Durham, NC  and Brooklyn Guyton-Thompson of Peaks Island, Maine; and her brother, Robert “Bobby” Hill(Judy) of Albemarle, NC and  sister in law, Margaret Hinson(David) of Albemarle, NC; her father in law, Ted Burris; many nieces, a nephew, numerous cousins and extended relatives and friends near and far.  

Visitation is Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 11:00am to 12:00pm, at Edwards Funeral Home, 120 College Street, Norwood. NC 28128.  A celebration of Sylvia's life will immediately follow the visitation, also at Edwards Funeral Home.
