Starr Blalock

Denisha Starr Blalock, 89, of Norwood, passed away surrounded by her family on June 5, 2026 at Bethany Woods Nursing Center. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 8, 2026 at Norwood Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Derrick Adcock and Rev. Carol Moffitt will officiate and interment will follow at Norview Gardens. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Starr was born on April 9,1937 in Detroit Michigan to the late Louis Wayne and Aretta Mae Donley. She graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School in Indiana and worked most of her life as a homemaker and caregiver. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Adam Blalock; grandson: Ryan KeithBlalock; and brother; Ronnie ‘Bud’ Donley. 

She is survived by her children: Mark Blalock, Lisa Eury (Jeff), Michael Blalock (Keli Tharney); five grandchildren: Megan Hall (Justin), Josh Eury (Shannon), Austin Blalock (Kaylin), Chandler Eury (Sabrina), and Mika Blalock; and five great-grandchildren: Cooper, Esme, Luke, Ben, and Waylon. 

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and caregivers at Bethany Woods and Cardinal Hospice for their love and compassionate care. 

Memorials may be made to the Norwood Church of the Nazarene.
