Shirley Smith

Shirley Clark Smith, 75, of Norwood, passed away Friday morning, August 19, 2022 at Atrium Stanly.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Bethlehem Baptist Church and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00PM.

The family requests masks to be worn during the visitation and the funeral service. 

Mrs. Smith was born on November 28, 1946 to the late Geneva Ridenhour and Jake Glover. She was a member at Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a retired Nursing Assistant. 

Shirley loved her family. Her greatest pleasure was taking care of her family, especially her grandboys. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She will also be remembered by her wonderful cakes she baked and shared with the community. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Early.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, L.C Smith of the home; daughters: Sherri Cranford (Phillip) and Jennifer Rhodes (Johnathan), both of Aquadale; five grandchildren: Jacob, Caleb, Travis, Tyler, and J.C.; one sister, Diane Winfree, and numerous nieces and nephews.
