Sherman Smith

Sherman Henry Smith, 69, of Albemarle, departed this life for his heavenly home on  Sunday, July 17, 2022 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Ansonville.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The public viewing for Mr. Smith will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.

Mr. Smith was born January 16, 1953 in Stanly County to the late Sherman and Willie Mae Davis Smith.  He was a 1971 graduate of Bowman High School and was last employed with Carolina Paper Converters, Inc.  He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Bell Colson Smith.

He is survived by daughters, Juanita Colson and Deloris Johnson; sons, Charlie P. Colson, Darin M. Colson, Sherman W. Smith, and Tim Hill; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucy Smith.
