Scott Dunn

Harold Scott Dunn, 76, of Mt. Gilead passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Stoney Fork Baptist Church in Mt. Gilead. Rev. Dwight Mabry will officiate. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.

Scott was born in Anson County on May 18, 1948 to the late Bobby Dunn, and Mary Sue Tilley Dunn. He worked as a mechanic for Russ Knits and was a member of Hamer Creek Baptist Church in Mt. Gilead.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Thompson Dunn, their son Harold Todd Dunn (Sarah) of Southport, granddaughter Caitlyn Elizabeth Dunn, sisters: Carolyn Thompson (Quinton) of Mt. Gilead, and Debbie Steagall (Joe) of Castle Hayne, nieces and nephews: Robert Nelson, Melissa McIntyre, Tricia Yow, Brent Thompson, Daniel Steagall, and Amber Steagall, and great nieces and nephews: Monica Nelson, Morgan Nelson, Hunter Nelson, Dylan Nelson, Brayden McRae, Sydney McRae, Melaina Yow, and Lane Yow.
