It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our mother, Sarah Hyatt, born in Cleveland County, North Carolina, on April 4, 1931. She passed away on April 27, 2021, at the age of 90. She lived a Christian life and was a long-time member of Wightman United Methodist Church.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Hyatt, and son-in-laws, Furman Gaddy and Michael Edgeworth; her parents, William Green Paxton and Mary Alpha Parker Paxton; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Sarah volunteered at Burnsville Recreation Learning Center and delivered meals to the elderly until her health declined. She was an active member of Wightman United Methodist Church where she served as a teacher and treasurer for many years. She was a retiree of the Anson County School System where she worked as a cafeteria manager at Ansonville Elementary School.
She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Moore (Victor), Janice Lustig (Jason), Susan Turner (Dennis), Kathy Gaddy, Nancy Edgeworth, Wanda Didier and Ann Taylor(Bill); grandchildren, Brieanna and Sydney Moore, Nicolas Lustig, Stephanie, Dana and Lucas Turner, Charlie Horne, Nicole Didier Bolen, Heidi Hayden, Sara Jordan and Amy Taylor(Preslar) and 10 great-grandchildren.
