Sammy Oakes

Sammy Jay Oakes 29 of Mott, North Dakota, formerly of Norwood died Thursday, March 12, 2020.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bill Roberts will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Sammy was born October 19, 1990 in Stanly County to Jeff and Donna Lee Oakes. He attended South Stanly High School and was a member of Norwood First United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Dana Carpenter Oakes, his daughter Izabella Oakes, his brother, Dillon Oakes (Chelsey), his niece, Chloe and his grandmother Vonda Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne Oakes, Flavie Thomas, Jim and Polly Lee.
