Ruby Lewis

Mrs. Ruby Swaringen Lewis, daughter of the late Ollie and Leriean Swaringen was born in Asheboro, NC on March 2, 1950. She departed this life on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Atrium Health Stanly in Albemarle, NC. She attended public school at Kingville High School. Ruby loved to cook, laugh, and be around her loving family. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lee E. Lewis, brothres: Charles “Coco” Swaringen, and Nathaniel Kendall, sisters: Jerlean S Edwards, Ollie Swaringen, Brenda K. Swaringen, and Daisy Mclendon,and  sister in laws: Gail Swaringern and Vickie Kendall.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons: Aldonso Lewis (Latwanya), Lamond Lewis, Monte Lewis, Shawn Lewis (Precious), and her three daughters: Regina Lewis, Laquesha Lewis, and Erica Lewis, 14 grandchildren: Marquese, Demetrius (Tyon), Shakeera, Marquel, Tyreke, Dymetria, Demetrius, Essence, Shawn, Marquez, Shammah, Issac, Heaven, and August, seven great-grandchildren: Desire, Demetrius (Tyrique), King, Raheem, Ava, Issac, and Mahir, one sister: Debra Swaringen, and two brothers: John H Kendall, Willie Doug “Jencie” Swaringen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 2:00p.m. at Saints Delight Church in Albemarle, with visitation at 1:30pm. Burial will follow the service in Hudson Cemetery, Norwood, NC.  Family and friends  are welcome to pay their respects on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.
