Ronald Walter Morgan ‘Yard Dog’, 75, of Polkton passed away Friday February 2, 2018 at his home.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 6, 2018 at 3:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeremy Blake will officiate and burial will follow at Oakboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00PM prior to the service.
Mr. Morgan was born on April 12, 1942 in Stanly County to the late Walter Kermit Morgan and Omie Lucille Blake. He was an auto body repairman. He was a member of the Big Oak Coon Club and the National Bird Association. He enjoyed raising game chickens and coon hunting.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Almond.
He is survived by his long time companion, Jackie Lisenby Springer of the home; two sons: Scott Morgan(Melindie) and Russell Morgan (Amanda Hartsell), all of Oakboro; three step-sons: Jeffrey Springer (Deborah) of Albemarle, Denny Springer (Leigh Ann) of Oakboro, and Anthony Springer (Marandy) of Norwood; his daughter: Amy Stegall (Tim) of Oakboro; his brother: Steve Morgan (Kathy) of Oakboro; seven sisters: Judy Helms (Jack) of Albemarle, Linda Little (Jimmy) of Oakboro, Pam Hinson of Polkton, Sandra Wagoner(Johnny) of Gold Hill, Vickie Lisk(Bruce) of Oakboro, Debbie McCraven (Walt) of Oakboro, and Robin Crawford (Mike) of Albemarle; one brother in law, Kenny Almond of Oakboro; 11 grandchildren: Spencer, Ariana, Brock, Victor, Chelsea, Jeffrey, Hailey, Jackson, Allie, Brittany, and Madaline; and three great-grandchildren.
