Rogers Baucom

Will Rogers Baucom, 88, of Wadesboro, passed away Monday afternoon, October 2, 2023 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church.  Rev. Justin Baucom will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends after the service.

Rogers was born April 29, 1935 in Anson County to the late Willie Shelvy Baucom and Glennie Deese Baucom.  He graduated from Burnsville High School in 1955 and went on to Central Piedmont Community College.  He proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1958.  He was last employed as a Code Enforcer with the County of Mecklenburg.

He was a member of the Woodmen of the World Insurance Society and Electrical Contractors Association.  He was a former member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and attended Brown Creek Baptist Church along with First Baptist Indian Trail, East Campus. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Artast, Roy and Erick Baucom; sisters, Edna Thomas, Inza Nash, Mae Randall, Perean Williams, Sylvia Little, Lucille Howell and Gayle Crump.

He is survived by his loving wife of  65 years, Frances Eddins Baucom of the home; sons Rogers Dale Baucom of Indian Trail, Douglas Alan Baucom of Wadesboro, David Roy Baucom of Wadesboro; daughter, Denise Baucom Xavier of Wadesboro; sisters, Betty B. Rogers of Stanfield and Darlene B. Threatt of Holden Beach; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Richmond County Hospice for their excellent care for the past year.
