Robert Hathcock

Robert “Pete” Hathcock, 85, of Norwood passed away Sunday morning, November 05, 2023 at Atrium Health Stanly in Albemarle. 

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Porter Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. Rev. Flynn Richardson will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery. 

Robert was born on February 24, 1938 to the late Marvin Adam and Myrtle Gregory Hathcock. He retired from Arrowood Store Fixtures and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as working on small engines.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Joyce Gibson Hathcock, daughter, Lora Hathcock, sisters: Carolyn Lee, and Kay Hyatt, and Mickey Hathcock and brothers: Franklin Hathcock, and Donnie Hathcock.

He is survived by his children, Robert “Buck” Hathcock (Dawn), Shelia Hinson (Richard), Lindsey “Shorty” Hathcock (Crystal Phillips), Johnny Hathcock (Tanya), Jeffery Hathcock (Belinda), brothers: Jimmy Hathcock and Bob Hathcock, sisters: Betty Burris, Lois Harris, Alice Doorman, and Shirley Rowland, and 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
