Robert was born April 23, 1968 in Mecklenburg County to the late Robert Moorman Gallagher, Sr. and Norma Cook Alexander(Tony) who survives. Robert was a Licensed General Contractor and was very skilled at his trade. His God given abilities allowed him to create and build beautiful and custom boathouses & piers along the beautiful shorelines of Lake Tillery & Badin Lake. He counted it a blessing to wake up every day and work on the water…his happy place. He was a true outdoorsman and over the years enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding four wheelers. He loved his hunt club in Anson County that he shared with his friends. During this time he affectionately was given the nickname “Bad Bob” because of his deer slaying abilities, and the name stuck. He also enjoyed golfing and played many rounds of golf with his buddies. He loved working in his yard and gardening throughout his life and took great pride to make sure it looked the best. His yards were always the envy of all the neighbors. His favorite pastime though was saltwater fishing. Anyone that knew Robert would attest that if the NOAA forecast looked good, then he and his many friends would plan a fishing trip. More times than not, they would return with a bountiful catch and Robert’s joy was being able to clean, prepare and cook fresh fish for his family and friends. The fellowship that took place during these times will remain in our minds and hearts forever. There was always a “fishing tale” that was being told, whether on the phone or in person and his eyes lit up when replaying the events of the fishing trip. Many family, friends and neighbors have been lucky to partake in a fish fry of Robert’s and they always left with a full belly and an even fuller heart. Everyone that knew him knew that he had the best chuckle, the biggest heart and that he would give you the shirt off his back. His greatest joy though in life, more than anything, was his two daughters, Jordan and Ali. He was so proud of their intelligence, beauty, grit and grace and didn’t stop until everyone he knew was aware of it! He always wanted them to succeed at anything they did, and he did whatever it took to give them the best opportunities. He also transitioned into the role of “Pappy” to his precious Grandchildren, Emmy and Easton and it was a blessing to see things come full circle and see the joy and extreme love he had for them. He was blessed and loved by so many people throughout his life but Robert loved people BIG too!
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Christi Griffin Gallagher; daughters, Jordan Gallagher Barrier(Matthew) and Ali Gallagher(Irving Salazar); grandchildren, Emersyn(Emmy) Barrier and Easton Barrier; sisters, Christy Gallagher Moore(Robbie), Tammy Gallagher and Darcy Gallagher; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, aunts and uncles and last but certainly not least his beloved dogs, Wolfie & Boogs.

In honor of Robert, we know he would want everyone to wear bright/tropical colors to his visitation/service. He would also want us to talk and fellowship and continue to tell those “fishing tales”.
If it's me that you are missin', don't worry – be glad – I've only gone fishin'. If someone should ask for me, tell 'em heaven is where I'll be.
