Robert Fields

Robert Lee Fields, 74, formerly of Mt. Gilead, passed away peacefully at Hospice Haven in Rockingham on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

A graveside service will be held  at Sharon Cemetery in Mt. Gilead on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM. 

Robert  was born on December 11, 1949 in Rockingham, NC to the late Bristole and Beulah Lee Fields.    He retired as the Maintenance Director with the Town of Mt. Gilead after many years of service. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Fields, brothers James (Roby) Fields and William (WD) Fields.  Sisters, Carrie Coble, Brenda Mishoe and Rosa Covington.  

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Angela Haywood of Chesterfield, SC. Grandson Devin Haywood of Chesterfield, SC, granddaughter, Courtney Haywood of Minnesota and Dawson Haywood (Skylar Lambeth) of Troy, NC as well as one great granddaughter, Addalyn Haywood of Troy, NC.  In addition to these, he is survived by two of his sisters, Rachael Fields of Rockingham, NC and Sarah Hildreth of Marshville, NC as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
