Robert Britt

Robert Thomas Britt, 80, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center in Albemarle.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Albemarle Wesleyan Church. Pastor James Valk will officiate and interment will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church.

Mr. Britt was born on February 22, 1943 in Anson County to the late James Thomas and Ila Lewis Britt. He was graduate from Norwood High School and served in the Air National Guard for six years. He was the owner and operator of his mechanic company, Trans-Action.

Robert loved spending time and traveling with his family. He also enjoyed working on cars,playing card games, and shooting pool. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Michael ‘Mike’ Floyd Britt, and four sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Sells Britt of the home; son Robert Thomas Britt Jr. ‘Tommy’ and wife Terri of Albemarle; daughter: Lisa Britt Hatley and husband Chip of Albemarle; sister: Frances Canter and husband Jim; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to John P. Murray Community Care Clinic, 303 Yadkin Street, Ste C, Albemarle NC 28001; in Memory of his son, Mike.
