Robert Barringer

Robert “Bobby” Ray Barringer, 85, of Albemarle passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at his home. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church. Pastor Phil Thorsen will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends the night prior, Monday, June 22, 2026 at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Bobby was born on November 2, 1940 to the late Burnie Allen and Alice Louise Forrest Barringer. He was a cabinet builder at Homes By Oakwood for 20+ years, and later retired from Stanly Fixtures. Bobby was a member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church. He was also a mason and a member of the Pee Dee Lodge #150 in Norwood. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jerry Ray Barringer, and his siblings: Doug Barringer, Glenn Barringer, Lorene Caudle, Sharon Corl.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Hartsell Barringer, their children: Patricia Hatley (Roger), and Tammy Sides (Bobby), grandchildren: Shane Hatley (Allison), and Travis Hatley (Bella), great-grandchildren: Hayden, Hinley, Holden, and Zoey, brother Alonzo Barringer and numerous nieces and nephews.
