Ricky Gainey

Ricky Gainey, 60,  passed away at home at 4:20 PM on Sunday afternoon, July 2, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. 

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 09, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Hut at Rock Creek Park

Ricky was born December 10, 1962 to the late Clayton and Bonnie Gainey. Ricky worked for Precision Mechanical for most of his life in the HVAC unit. 

Ricky enjoyed going to the beach and fishing with friends, and his sense of humor made time with Ricky never dull. His laughter was contagious. In his 26 years of sobriety, he helped others reach their goal through his service work in the community.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Gainey, and his brother James Gainey. 

He is survived by his daughter, Savannah Gainey, son Christopher Matthew Thomas, sisters Debbie Morton and Vonnie Roach, and brother Paul Gainey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Will’s Place in Albemarle, NC.
