Ricky Blalock

Ricky Smith Blalock 78, of Norwood, passed away Friday afternoon, January 16, 2026 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Monday, January 19, 2026 at Mount Zion Methodist Church in Norwood.  Rev. David Hatley will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ricky was born January 31, 1947 in Stanly County to the late Grover Cephus and Annie Emmaline Kimrey Smith.  She was a graduate of South Stanly High School.  She was an active member of Mount Zion Methodist Church.  

Ricky loved her family and helped raise her grandchildren as well as other children, she was very devoted to her family.  She enjoyed gardening and canning.  Ricky was a good cook and was known for her delicious Peanut Brittle.  

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Doyle Blalock and brother Ervin Smith.

She is survived by her children, Phillip Blalock(Shanda), Tracie Blalock and Wade Blalock(Shonda); grandchildren, Tyler Blalock, Tanner Blalock(Kalysta Russell), Micheala, Madison and Jason Wood and Wade Lee Blalock; brother, Shelly Smith(Lucinda), sister, Irene Barbee and sister in law, Ellen Smith.
