Ralph Lewis Thompson Sr. 85, of Mt. Gilead passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at his home.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Gilead. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. Rev. Jesse Carpenter and Rev. Steve Jarman will officiate.
Ralph was born on January 25, 1939 to the late Homer and Altia Thompson. He served in the United States Army and retired from the USPS as a postal supervisor. Ralph and his wife Charlotte also proudly owned and operated the Mt. Gilead Music Barn, bringing music and fellowship to their community for many years. The Music Barn was a place full of happiness, and Ralph and Charlotte always made sure to celebrate everyone’s birthdays with cake.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 16 siblings, including his brother Bill Thompson.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Charlotte Thompson, their children: Ralph Thompson Jr. (Angel), and Karen Beach (Jeff), three grandchildren: Taryn Gross (Sean), Cody Thompson (Shelby), and Zoȅ Beach, four great grandchildren: Oaklyn Thompson, Emmalyn Thompson, Mallorie Gross, and Joe Joe Gross, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
