Ralph Jr. was born February 12, 1949, in Stanly County to the late Albert Ralph Allen and Janie Richardson Allen Furr.
Prior to opening and owning his own business, Allen Tire Center in Norwood, Ralph Junior attended South Stanly High School and was employed by Russell-Harvell Hosiery in Mt. Gilead, NC. He operated his tire center business for years. As a young boy, Ralph loved piddling/working on cars—making repairs, buying and selling, and restoring older vehicles. As he got older, anything dealing with vehicles was his favorite occupation and hobby which came natural to him. Of all the cars he restored, he was very proud of a 1957 Chevrolet Impala SS. He loved attending car shows--some of which he entered his own restored vehicles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Allen of Hartsville, SC and Johnny Allen of Norwood, NC.
Ralph was a loving son, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He is survived by his two sons, Joel (fiancé Cindy)of Mount Gilead and Daryl (April) of Norwood, daughter, Dana Allen Hepler of Thomasville, NC, three grandsons, Landon and Austin Hepler and Sawyer Allen; his sister, Vickey (Lane) Bowles, brother, Randy (Donna)Allen all of Norwood, his sister, Charlene (Jr.) Pigg of Monroe, NC as well as many nieces and nephews and loving friend, Margaret Hutchinson.
