Polly (Gardner) Dunn

Polly Gardner Dunn, 92 of Burlington, formerly of Mount Gilead,passed away,  August 3, 2020 at the home of her daughter. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church in Mount Gilead.  Rev. James Black will officiate, and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM-1:45PM prior to the service at the church. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. 

Mrs. Dunn was born December 20, 1927 in Montgomery County to the late Bryant (Buck) and Bessie Gardner.  She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a retiree of Midstate Tile Company. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie W. Dunn; brothers, Clyde Gardner, Frank Gardner and Doc Gardner; sisters, Thelma Gardner, Verna Mae Deaton, Betty Byrd and Jennie Belle Robbins. 

She is survived by her son, Rev. Dr. Branson Dunn of Oriental, NC, daughter, Virginia(Ginny) Dunn Ward of Burlington, NC; grandson, Wesley Weger(Dawn); granddaughters, Amanda Dove(Wayne) of Vestavia, AL, Polly Belloso of Colorado Springs, CO, Hannah Lynch(Tommy) of UK; four great-grandchildren; brother, David Gardner(Louise) of Mount Gilead and sister, Montie Hoover of Mount Gilead.
