Phyllis Efird

Phyllis Marie Harwood Efird, 86, passed away at Spring Arbor Senior Living in Albemarle, NC on June 20, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband James Robert Efird Sr., sister Linda Burleson, and parents Crawford and Clyde Harwood.

She is survived by her son James (Diane) Efird of Charlotte, daughter Roxanne (Reese) Linnell of Oakboro, son Bradley (Lori) Efird of Oakboro, eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, who affectionately called her Maw-Maw.

She was a lifelong member of Cottonville Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and treasurer among other roles. A graduate of Carolina Business School, she was the office manager at Lorch Plumbing and Heating for over 40 years. In retirement she served as a volunteer at Atrium Hospital in Albemarle. She loved family gatherings and walks along the beach where she was a master shell collector.

Visitation will be at Cottonville Baptist Church between 2:00-3:00 p.m. on June 23, Her funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. with a graveside service following. Rev.
