Peggy Hanna

Peggy Rowell Hanna 88 of Norwood died Sunday Morning, December 22, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Green Memorial Methodist Church. Rev. Ron Dry and Rev. Gary Baker will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Peggy was born November 30, 1936 in York County, SC to the late Gilbert and Vassie Mary Freedell Rowell. She was a retiree of Michelin and a longtime member of Green Memorial Methodist Church where she had served as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Lay leader, and United Methodist Women at the local and district level.

She was a wonderful Wife, Mother and Grandmother and prayer warrior for all her family. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Her other hobbies included sewing and she especially enjoyed quilting. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Boss “Franklin” Delano Hanna who she married December 4, 1954. Three brothers, Lewis Rowell, James Rowell and Jack Rowell, and 2 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her five children, Cathy Hanna Poplin, Frank Hanna (Rosemary), Doreen Cole (Ben), Brenda Lowder(Eric) and Sharon Casper(Mike). Her grandchildren, Jimmy Dennis, Terry Dennis, Tonya Clark. Raymond Hanna, Jason Hanna, Angie Jones, Benny Cole, Brandon Byrd, Shane Byrd, Erika Galloway, Amanda Casper and Daniel Casper. 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
