Peggy Adams

Peggy Moore  Adams, 77, of Albemarle passed away Monday morning, February 22, 2021 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Randall United Methodist Church in Norwood.  Rev. Caitlin McAlhany will officiate.  The family will receive friends Friday evening, February 26, 2021 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.  Interment will follow at a later date at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington, NC.

Peggy was born April 16, 1943 in New Hanover County to the late Robert Aster and Eula Mae Lee Moore.  She was a retired insurance agent with First Bank Insurance in Southern Pines.  Peggy was an active member of Randall United Methodist Church where she served as church treasurer.  She assisted members of the community with income tax preparation at the Senior Center in Albemarle.

She was actively involved with the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was set to receive her 50 year service pin. She had served as Matron of the Edith Chapter 160 of Cary and was a local member of Albemarle Chapter 71.  

She is survived by her husband, Robert “Gary” Adams of the home; sons, Mark David Hewett of Wilmington and Scott Douglas Hewett of Louisburg; two stepdaughters, Barbara Ann Perry and husband, Michael of Jupiter, FL and Kimberly Kay Boyle and husband, Kevin of Kansas City, MO; nine grandchildren, Davis, Frank and Chelsea Hewett, Kyle and Andrew Newnan, Samantha and Alex Hewett, Chris and Ryan Sancilio;  three great-grandchildren, John and Ava Hewett and Wolfgang Strubble.
