Paul Eugene Walters

Paul Eugene Walters, 82, of Norwood passed away early Thursday morning, September 24, 2020 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM, Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Edwards Funeral Chapel in Norwood.  Rev. Bill Roberts will officiate.  The family will  receive friends from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home.  

Mr. Walters was born December 19, 1937 in Surry County to the late Arlys Granville and Gladys Key Walters.  He was a retiree of Wansona Manufacturing and a member of First United Methodist Church Norwood.  Paul was an avid golfer, fisherman and a big supporter of youth athletics.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Joe Walters and sister, Rachel Welch.  

He is survived by his loving wife, Opal Tilley Walters of the home; son, Tony Walters and wife, Leigh of Lewisville, NC; daughter, Robin Knight and husband, Kenny of Polkton, NC;  three grandchildren, Diane Hasenmayer, Will Knight and wife, Melanie and Michael Walters; seven great-grandchildren, Lauryn, Jay, Phillip and Catherine Hasenmayer, Easton, Kaiden and Cohen Knight and sister, Mary Ruth Roach.
