Patricia Wilson “Pat” Kelley, 95, of Concord, formerly of Norwood, North Carolina, died peacefully Monday evening, December 22, 2025, at her home with family by her side.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord.
A native of Greenville, South Carolina, Pat was the daughter of the late Sylvester Guy Wilson and Jessie Emerson Wilson Cooley.
She retired from the Stanly County Tax Collector’s Office in Albemarle and later worked at Piney Point Golf Course in Norwood before moving to Concord.
Pat was a member of First United Methodist Church in Norwood, the Norwood Community Service League, the YMCA, and was an avid reader, always exchanging books with her family and friends.
She enjoyed trips to the beach, being in the sun, and listening and dancing to beach music. While she had many interests throughout her life, Pat’s greatest joy was her family, especially her two grandchildren, Will and Lauren. She rarely missed an opportunity to spend time with them.
Pat was also a treasured member of the Domino Divas, a group of six ladies from Sapphire Hills who gathered to play every Wednesday. They cherished her sense of humor and often remarked on how sharp she remained as the eldest member of the group. Sapphire Hills was a close-knit community where she enjoyed ladies’ nights out and neighborhood gatherings and was able to attend a recent Friendsgiving with dear friends. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her there.
She is survived by her daughters, Kristie K. Marklin and husband Robert of Concord, and Kimberly K. Longbottom of Wilmington; grandchildren, William K. Marklin and Lauren K. Longbottom; and two half-sisters, Janice W. Gilchrist of Taylors, South Carolina, and Judy W. Hudgens of Greenville, South Carolina.
Pat lived her life with grace, independence, and a strong appreciation for family, friendship, and everyday joys.
