Nellie Thompson

Nellie Collins Thompson, 64, of Norwood, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 27, 2020 at her home.  

A memorial service will be held at 6:30pm, Thursday, October 29, 2020 at First United Methodist Church in Norwood.  Rev. Bill Roberts will officiate.  

Nellie was born July 20, 1956 in Moore County to the late James Earl Collins and Kathrene Bobbitt Collins, who survives.  She was a 1974 graduate of South Stanly High School.  and was last employed by the Norwood Police Department.  She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church.  

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 46 years, Harold Thompson of the home; brother, Robert Earl “Bob” Collins and wife, Mary of Hudson, MA; sister, Carolyn Collins Edwards and husband, Doug of Mount Pleasant; special sister in law, Brenda Thompson Harris and husband, Tony of Norwood; six nieces, four nephews, eight great nieces, nine great nephews, five great-great nieces and five great-great nephews.
