Neal Dunn

Neal Frank Dunn, 86, of Mount Gilead passed away Monday morning, January 24, 2022 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Wadeville Baptist Church in Mount Gilead.  Rev. Brantley Moore will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Neal was born May 12, 1935 in Montgomery County to the late Lonnie Gilmore and Mary Brooks Dunn.  He proudly served his country in the US Army, retiring in 1974, with 20 years service.  After returning from the Army, he established Wallace-Dunn Heating and Air, where he remained owner and operator until his retirement.  He was an active member of Wadeville Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and various other jobs of the church. Neal loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Donna Willets; son in law, Patrick Parks; brother, Ralph Dunn; sisters, Helen Smith, Brenda Dennis and Shirley Manness.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Thompson Dunn of the home; sons, Lonnie Dunn of Albemarle, Rick Miller of Star and Jeff Miller of Mount Gilead; daughters, Rhonda Dunn of Mount Gilead, Sue Parks of Mount Gilead and Toni Milligan of Ash; 22 grandchildren. 43 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
