Mitchell Morton

Mitchell Lee Morton, 51, of Wadesboro died Monday December 6, 2021.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Blackwood Chapel in Candor.  Rev. Brantley Moore will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 12:30PM to 1:45PM, prior to the service at the church and then after the service at the home of his son, Justin Morton. 

Mr. Morton was born December 9, 1969 in Montgomery County to the late Bobby Darrell and Mary Ann Boyd Morton.  He attended West Montgomery High School.  He was employed by Fiberon of New London.  

Mitchell was a great dad to his three boys and his grandchildren.  He loved with a big heart and believed in family first.  If you ever met Mitchell, even for just a minute, you were his friend and he would do anything for you.  He was a hard worker and enjoyed being outdoors and being active.  He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, taking his boat to the lake and fishing, golfing, and playing pool. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mickey Ray Morton and sister, Teresa Lynn Morton.

He is survived by his sons, Joshua Lee Morton(Alex) of Albemarle, Justin Mitchell Morton(Jeena) of Biscoe and Jared Austin Morton(Katlyn) of Fort Hood, TX; grandchildren, Thomas, Mason, Ashlyn and Sawyer.
