Mildred Smith

Mildred Glover Smith 79 of Mt. Gilead passed away early Friday morning, December 10, 2021 at First Health in Pinehurst.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 13, 2021 at Lomax Memorial Baptist Church in Troy. Rev. Chip Bryant and Rev. Carl Burrow will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 Sunday afternoon, December 12, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home of Mt. Gilead.

Mrs. Smith was born August 16, 1942 in Stanly County to the late Grady and Ila Hardister Glover. She was a retired nursing assistant and enjoyed her work at Montgomery Memorial Hospital and Evans Rest Home. She was a member of Lomax Memorial Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Smith and her daughter Lorraine Smith. 

She is survived by her three daughters, Laura Cranford (Jeff), Donna Johnson (Larry), and Barbara Benitez (Aydin). Nine grandchildren, Leticia Shaw, Christina Johnson, Stephanie Kennedy, Stacy Shook, Jessica Smith, Zac Cranford, Tara Cranford, Tony Fairley, Blair McKenzie. Thirteen great-grandchildren, Chase, Brandon, Ryan, Collin,
Genesis, Makenna, Preston, Maxton,  Kailynn, Addie Grace, Addie Kate, Emerson and Landon.
