Mildred Browning

Mildred Campbell Browning, 87, of Mount Gilead passed away Tuesday morning, October 24, 2023.  

Funeral services will be at Hamer Creek Baptist Church in Mt. Gilead on Friday, October 27 at 2:00.  The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00 in the church fellowship hall. Rev. Rupert Medford and Pastor Mike Greene will officiate and the burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery.  

Mrs. Browning was born August 15, 1936 in Greeneville County, SC to the late Carl and Clara Chapman Campbell.  She was a member of Hamer Creek Baptist Church.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  Mrs. Browning served with her husband in the pastorate for most of their marriage.  She loved to sing of the wondrous love of Christ. In the days leading up to her death, she was excited to see her Lord and be able to sing in heaven.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Coker.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Reverend Randolph Browning of the home; son, Jerry Browning and wife Teresa of  Mount Gilead, NC; daughter, Lisa Ricci and husband, Harden of Holly Springs, NC; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
