Mikey Harrison

Michael Andrew Harrison ‘Mikey’ , 21, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026 at his home. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Community Full Gospel in Norwood. Pastor Mike Lisk and Pastor Mike Rinehardt will officiate and interment will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, May 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood. 

Michael was born on May 26, 2004 in Stanly County to Kenny Harrison Jr. and Mitzi Hatley. He enjoyed competing in the Special Olympics, which he participated in for 18 years. He also enjoyed watching his favorite shows and movies, Elmo, Shrek, and Barney. He was a member of Community Full Gospel Church and will be remembered for his big beautiful smile. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: David and Lenora Smith and Jan Furr; and Uncles Wesley Harrison and William Whitley; Aunts Brea Furr and Judy Poplin; and great-grandmother, Ruth Cranford. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings: Jalen Harrison (Heather), Madison Hatley, McKenzie Hatley (Hunter), and Kevin Hatley; grandfather Kent Harrison; and a special caregiver, Shannon Heun.
