Mickey Glenn Kearns, 60, of Mount Gilead, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024 at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Flynn Richardson will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, January 23, 2024 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at Edwards Funeral Home in Mount Gilead.
Mickey was born June 5, 1963 in Montgomery County to the late Earl Dean Kearns and Evelyn Hudson Kearns, who survives of Candor. He was a 1981 graduate of West Montgomery High School. He was employed for many years at Collins & Aikman in Troy and most recently he worked at the Montgomery County Convenience Center at C C Camp Road.
Mickey loved his family, he was so proud of his precious grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, always the jokester and making people smile. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a big Duke Blue Devils basketball fan and Pittsburgh Steelers football fan. He loved listening to music, especially anything by KISS.
In addition to his mother, Evelyn; he is survived by his daughter, Brittney Sheffield(Casey) of Locust; two grandchildren, Miles Austin and Indie Nicole Sheffield; his sister, Sherry Coyle of Candor; nieces, Kyanna Powell and her son Trystan of Mount Gilead; Shannon Coyle and her daughter, Juliana of Mount Gilead and his nephew, Devin Coyle.
