Meriam Blake

Meriam Nicholson Blake, 82, of Mt. Gilead died Monday Morning, September 17, 2018 at Bethany Woods in Albemarle.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Reece English will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

Meriam was born January 2, 1936 in Richmond County to the late Robert Lawrence and Tina Bundy Nicholson. She was the retired General Manager of Twin Harbor Camping Resort on Lake Tillery. Following her retirement, she worked for American Greeting Cards and for many years and as a greeter at Edwards Funeral Home of Mt. Gilead. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she had served as church secretary for many years and also sang in the choir.

Meriam enjoyed spending time with her friends at Senior Exercise, her Friday night Dinner Date with her ladies group and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Lee Blake.

She is survived by her son Alan Blake of Mt. Gilead and her daughter Lisa Richardson (Steve) of Locust. Meriam had one sister, Myra Taylor (Frederick) of Troy. She also had four granddaughters, Blake Richardson Lee (Brandon), Sydney Richardson Lyon (Ethan), Brianna  Blake and Skyler Blake, one great-grandson, Brewer Robert Lee, and one niece, Ellen Peterson(Bill).
