Mary Ann Smith

Mary Ann Raffaldt Smith 52 of Albemarle died Wednesday Morning, June 5, 2019 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Thompson Creek Baptist Church, 3403 Wamble Hill Road, Chesterfield, SC. Rev. Ronnie Grizzle will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Friday Evening at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.

Mary Ann was born August 7, 1966 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina to the late Fred Robert Raffaldt and Mary Purvis Raffaldt who survives of Chesterfield. She worked for Michelin of Norwood and part time with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. She was a Captain with the Stanly County Sheriff’s Department for 13 years. She was a Volunteer for 33 Recovery and a member of Guardian Bikers Club and a member of Freedom Holiness Church.

Mary Ann loved flower gardening, riding her motorcycle and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her son Derek Smith, her granddaughter Stevie Skylar Russell, her sister Teresa Raffaldt Heun and brother Freddie Raffaldt.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her brother Robbie Raffaldt (Pam) of Norwood. Two sisters, Robin Raffaldt Loftin (Richard) of Albemarle and Cynthia Raffaldt of Chesterfield. Her Companion Mikey Thompson of Norwood. Several special nieces and nephews she considered her children and grandchildren and many special friends. Also surviving is her canine companion Floyd.
