Mary Tyson

Mary Barringer Tyson, 74, of Norwood died Saturday morning, April 3, 2021 at Atrium health Pineville.

Graveside Services will be held at 3:00PM Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Stoney Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in Mt. Gilead. Rev. Terry Burris and Rev. Flynn Richardson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Tuesday evening at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.

Mary was born November 26, 1946 in Montgomery County to the late Lane and Nellie Thompson Barringer. She was a retiree of Trinity Place and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, David Carroll Tyson of the home; three sons, Tony Barringer (Loretta) of Mt. Gilead, Tracy Deese (Robin) of Albemarle and Timothy Deese of the home; two brothers, John Barringer of Mt. Gilead and Chris Barringer (Kathy) of Sanford; two sisters, Judy Cox of Mt. Gilead and Angela Huneycutt (Derry) of Norwood. Five grandchildren, Tyler Saunders, McKenzie Deese, Luke Barringer, Chasity Manuel (Jon), and Samantha Shepherd (C.J.). Also surviving is her canine companion Diesel.

She was preceded in death by her son,  Terry Deese.

The family will meet at the home of her sister Angela Huneycutt, 4704 Fork Road, Norwood, NC  28128.
