Mary Ann Virginia Lee Liverman, 77, of Norwood, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:00 PM, prior to the service. She will lie in state on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home .
Mary was born on March 4, 1946 in Stanly County to the late Willie James and Julie Ethel Lilly Lee. She graduated in 1966 from Kingville High School and from Stanly Community College with the highest average. After graduation she worked and then retired from Collins and Aikman. She attended Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church as well as Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and attending family events. She enjoyed life and was a friend to everyone. She loved her family deeply and will be remembered by always saying ‘I know.’
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Ray Liverman; son, Andrea Maurice Gaddy; siblings, Christine Virginia Griffin, Lee Robert Lilly, Clifford Turner, Kelvin Turner,and Buddy Roe; grandson, Rodney "RJ" Liverman and Justice Bruton.
She is survived by her son, Rodney Wayne Liverman Sr.; sisters, Annette Bessie Mae Lee Harris, Minister Joanne Ingram, Ernestine Watkins (Walter Watkins), Nancy Lee Howell, Diane Lee Hester, and Lisa Kirk; brothers, Henry James Lee (Betty), Bobby Lee Turner, and Thomas LeRoy Turner; brother and sister-in-laws: Mother Stella Spencer, Dr. Alice Basnight (Fentress Sr.), and Brother Kenneth Liverman; special friend and cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lee and family; special friends, Elder Larry and Daphne Patty, Melinda Duncan, and Kamisha Steele; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
