Martha (Marty) Vance Buet, aged 91, of High Point, North Carolina, formerly of Ansonville, passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2023. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Wanda Thomas Gray, and husband Mike of High Point, North Carolina.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Bethlehem Cemetery in Ansonville with Dexter Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Martha was a successful businesswoman, leaving a lasting impact on her community. Her legacy extends through her daughter and the lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clement Franklin Vance Sr. and Minnie Lou Hildreth Vance, her sister, Vivian Vance Watts of Anson County, and her daughter, Amber Thomas Todd of Conway, South Carolina.
Martha cherished her role as a loving grandmother and took pride in her expansive family. ‘Mom-Mom’ is remembered by her six grandchildren: Dana McCallum and husband David from Loris, South Carolina; Holly Hicks from Aynor, South Carolina; Wesley Miller and wife Ashley Miller from Conway, South Carolina, Robyn Harrelson and Husband Shane from Galivants Ferry, Mary Mack Gray and husband Rusty Simmons from Manteo, North Carolina, and Sophie Schroeder and husband Ryan from Denver, Colorado.
Her love extended to thirteen great-grandchildren: Tiffany McCallum, Kenzie McCallum, Derrick McCallum, Danica McCallum, Katrina Miller, Austin Miller, Tristan Hicks, Charli Miller, Maxx Miller, Westin Miller, Ashleigh Harrelson, Avary Harrelson, and Gabe Harrelson. Additionally, she is survived by three great-great-grandchildren: Khaya Vereen, Nigel Vereen Jr., and Novah Vereen.
She is also survived by her brother, Frank Vance of Clarksburg, Virginia.
Martha Vance Buet’s impact on her family and community will be remembered for her love of cooking, her expertise as a master gardener, her generous heart, and her amazing smile. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and giving. She will be greatly missed.
Certainly, in memory of the beloved Martha Vance Buet, the family suggests contributions to the Triad SPCA to honor her love for animals and compassionate spirit. Alternatively, a gesture of flowers, reflecting her appreciation for their beauty, is also meaningful. However, the simplicity of thoughts and prayers is equally cherished and will serve as a fitting tribute to her memory, providing comfort during this difficult time.
