Marie Ellen McRae Dennis, 78, of Mt. Gilead, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019 at her home.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 1, 2019 at McRae Cemetery. Rev. Vanessa McIntyre will officiate.

Mrs. Dennis was born June 19, 1940, to the late Lacy Leonard and Minnie Christine Morton McRae. She was a member at Little River United Methodist Church. She worked as a CNA and was a homemaker. She was very outgoing, loved people and loved to cook and serve others. It was said she would give you the shirt off of her back. She loved animals, especially her grandpup, Tippy.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Hoyle Reece Dennis; son, Lenny Reece Dennis; daughter, Trina Annette Smith; brothers, Von and Leonard McRae; and sister, Margaret Spinks.

She is survived by her daughter of the home, Amy Till; grandchildren: Shondra Moore, Joey Lovelace (Drew), Cameron Smith, Melissa Dennis, Sylvia Dennis, Lacey Till Kaminski, and Christopher Ayers; great-grandchildren: Madison Moore, Reed Lovelace, and Zack Buzze. In addition, she has a sister, Jane Liles, and brother, Max McRae (Debbie).
